Emmanuel -Information about worship resources

Emmanuel Methodist Church is situated to the north-west of Barnsley town centre, about half a mile from the town centre. As Christians we meet every Sunday (and also in the week) to worship God and to celebrate the amazing new life that the risen Jesus Christ offers everyone. We believe God is interested in every person's life and wants to reveal His love for each individual as we grow in our relationship with Him.

Emmanuel is a lively welcoming Church, open to all ages. Together we seek to help each other learn about the Christian faith. In a typical week at Emmanuel we provide a varied programme for new and mature Christians as well as people who are exploring Christianity for the first time. Worship, bible study, prayer, mutual support and care are regarded as central features of our church life. We host a range of activities for children, young people and families.

We also seek to make a positive difference in the world with ongoing local and overseas community projects. We challenge injustice and want to be a loving neighbour to people in need. We seek to care for every person and the world itself. We also have a desire and a responsibility to share the message of the Bible and encourage others to become followers of Jesus Christ. Our building is modern and spacious and hosts many community groups as well as many Concerts.

Monday:

• 9.15am to 11.15am – Toddler Group
• 9am to 10am – Lynn's Fitness Class
• 1pm – Parkinson's Exercise
• 3.45pm to 5.15pm – Messy Church (3rd Monday of each month)
• 5pm – Stampers Dance

Tuesday

• 10.am to 12 noon – Community Coffee Morning (1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month)
• 10am to 12 noon – Oasis Cafe (2nd and 3rd Tuesday of each month)
• 7.30pm – Men's Discipleship Group

Wednesday

• 10am – Sewing and Quilting
• 7pm – Contemporary Service (3rd Wednesday of each month)
• 7.30pm – Karla Choir

Thursday

• 1pm to 3pm – Musical Memories and Cafe
• 5.30pm – Slimming World
• 6pm – Brownies

Friday

• 9.30am to 11am – Little Singers
• 10am to 12 noon – U3A Stitches

Saturday

• 8.30am – Men's Breakfast (1st Saturaday of each month)
• 4pm – Portuguese Church

Sunday:

• 10am -Sunday service and ROOT's for children and young people
• 2pm – Latvian Church
• 4pm to 6pm – Circuit Youth Group (last Sunday of each month at various chapels in the Circuit)
