We would like to say a huge thank you to Rev Ben Scrivens

He shaved his head at Buckley Methodist Church back in August, all in honour of our young patient Oliver Howe, who is undergoing treatment on our Cancer and Leukamia ward.

Ben said " Oliver's Great Grandmother, Grandmother and Father are all members of The Methodist Church Barnsley North West, of which Buckley Chapel is a part. Oliver has been in our thoughts and prayers for many years.

"Theres only so much you can take before you have to do something isn't there. I knew that if I ever needed to do a fundraiser having my head shaved would generate interest with friends and family so that is what we settled on.

"We knew that whilst Sheffield Children's Hospital was where Oliver needed to be, it had also gone above and beyond in making him feel loved and cherised so we wanted to support The Children's Hospital Charity.

"We also wanted to encourage the church to create a similar welcoming and loving vibe for people of all ages and saw the uniting power of Lego – Oliver's favourite pastime – in doing this, so funds are going to be used to set up lego church".
