Dodworth Garden Party

By tradition we have had our Summer Garden party at the home of Peter and Christine Landon at The Grove on Dodworth High Street. It is a glorious setting. On Saturday June 29th we were blessed with wall to wall sunshine, some wonderful singing from part of the Keresforth Primary School choir, adorable refreshments supplied by the Ladies of The Chapel and pleasant fellowship with folks we knew and others from the village. The Guides from our Chapel were there to help out with the games and Coconut Shy where surprisingly, due to the fact that some were glued on (only kidding), 60 coconuts were dislodged and carried away triumphantly. Cakes, Plants, Books, Tombola Prizes and Raffle Prizes were also safely tucked away in people's bags as they reluctantly left the pleasant surrounds at the end of an event which raised sufficient funds to pay 2 winter gas bills! Rev. Mick Neal was on hand to open the proceedings and to capture the event on camera for us all to view in the quietness of our homes.
